Celebrando el camino de India

Cañada Blanch ... Leones y Osos.

Troy's Summer Term project was "the way of India".  His favourite area seemed to be the Yoga poses.  After school he would sit in a special pose and relax.

The end of term saw some wonderful Indian dancing by the girls and the boys doing a little sun salutation.   We were all very proud.

Fiesta del Otoño

Before the Battle of the leaves (Batalla de las Hojas) .. we learned about Autumn.
Some of the mum's made really tasty cakes.
We had a presentation before we ate them, where the Mums gave a talk on all the things that you find in nature that you can eat in Autumn.  Mum spoke about Grapes (Uvas) .. she gave the presentation in Spanish!! We then sang a song...
And then to the serious business of eating.
mmmmmmm delicioso!

I'm way at the end of the table .. but there was still loads left.

Nice weather for the MIDDLE of November :)

In London they're doing the letters too. .. they've done some cool stuff .

A surprise for Manu.  The 'i' in Tarifa and the 'o' in London make friends.

Aris comes to stay

Aris se queda con nosotros

Each weekend someone has to take Aris home . She stayed with our family for her first weekend at school.  It turned out to be a "Womble Weekend*" for her.

First she ate Lunch with us, then we took her to the supermarket.

Then as it was raining, my sister made them both coats out of plastic bags - hmmm!
On Saturday, we left Aris in charge of the house as we went to visit friends.
But on Sunday we took her with us for some more Wombling - as lots of people in the town went picking up the rubbish left from the summer picnics.
She went to bed early.  It had been a big weekend!

*These are Wombles in case you don't know.
(They use the rubbish they find  -when cleaing the parks - to make cool stuff. Like the coat Hayley made ..).

Monsters

On my first few days at Cañada Blanch we discoverd "Donde Viven Los Monstrous".  We have this book at home. Fue nuestro primer libro en español cuando éramos muy pequeños ...

Today we talked about Monsters with mum.
We went through all the books that we have here in Tarifa and looked at all the pictures.  Some of the things my mum thought were monsters I did not.   For me monsters have to be scary and they have to be real monsters, not muddy ones like in 'Room on a Broom'.

Very few of the animals in Dr. Seuss are monsters ... as when I thought about it - they have to be scary.

So here's our top three.

We really like "street monsters" and often draw them in our breakfast in the mornings with honey!

We also like the Cookie Monster

And the one that I like most are Monster Trucks !!
After talking about Monsters we went to the beach and drew street monsters in the sand .. but in Tarifa they're called Monstruos de Arena
